Summary/Objective
The Territory Manager supports contractors, distributors, and internal teams by providing product information, preparing accurate quotes, and managing orders from start to finish. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to learn HVAC product fundamentals. Working closely with engineering, operations, and field sales, the Territory Manager ensures a smooth customer experience while building the technical and commercial skills needed to advance into a future Regional Sales Manager role within the organization.
Job Description
Day to Day Tasks (primary responsibilities):
• Inbound Lead Management — Handle contractor, distributor, and engineer inquiries; qualify leads and route high value opportunities to field sales.
• Outbound Sales Outreach — Conduct proactive outreach to existing accounts to promote new HVAC products, follow up on quotes, and identify project pipelines.
o Communications (bridge the gap) Pro Actively with Phone Calls and Emails between:
▪ Reps
▪ Distributors
• Quote Preparation — Build accurate quotes, configurations, and lead time estimates using ERP and manufacturer guidelines.
• Technical Product Support — Provide product selection assistance, sizing guidance, and basic troubleshooting; escalate complex issues to engineering.
• Order Processing — confirm availability, and coordinate with production and logistics.
o Order Follow Up – Pro Active Communications:
▪ Orders (Acknowledgment)
▪ Production (on time/delays)
▪ Shipments – tracking
• CRM Management — Maintain detailed customer records, opportunity stages, and follow up schedules.
• Distributor Relationship Support — Support distributor partners with pricing, inventory updates, and product information.
• Cross Functional Coordination — Collaborate with engineering, operations, and field sales to resolve issues and support project timelines.
o Project Management: (Large Projects)
▪ Communicate with distributors
▪ Coordination of shipments shipping from different manufacturing locations
• Sales Reporting — Prepare weekly/monthly reports on quotes, close rates, backlog, and customer activity.
o Reporting: (Weekly/Monthly)
▪ Run open order reports
▪ Lead Time Report
▪ Sales Numbers Report
▪ Quote Follow Up / Lost Opportunities Report
▪ Quality Hold / Component Shortage Report
▪ Ratings reporting
• Market Intelligence Gathering — Capture competitive insights and customer feedback to inform product management.
• After Sales Support — Assist with warranty questions, replacement parts, and customer satisfaction follow ups.
o Communications (bridge the gap) Pro Actively with Phone Calls and Emails between:

▪ Warranty
▪ Warranty – parts
▪ Quality
▪ RMA’s – Status update
• Product Training Assistance — Support training sessions for contractors, reps, and distributors.
Required Education and Work Experience
• A combination of Associate or higher degree with a minimum of five (5) years in HVAC industry preferred, or equal industry experience.
• Motivated self-starter able to work in a fast-paced and independent environment.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent computer skills, including company ERP program.
• Willing to envelop the company culture, standards of procedures.
• High level of company product knowledge and support.
• Decision-making, problem solving and creative thinking skills.
