Sr. Project Engineer – Refrigeration

Job Description

We are currently seeking a highly skilled Sr. Project Engineer-Refrigeration to join our team in the HVAC industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in refrigeration, HVAC, and mechanical engineering, and will be responsible for designing, building, and testing refrigeration systems for various applications. This position requires a keen eye for detail and a passion for delivering innovative solutions that meet the clients’ needs and exceed expectations.

  • Willing and able to travel Domestic and occasionally International travel (Canada primarily)
  • Must be a US Citizen or US Permanent resident who is legally authorized to work in the US and able to successfully pass a background check and pre-employment drug test.

Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities/ Goals:

  • Developing conceptual designs and performing feasibility studies for refrigeration systems.
  • Creating detailed designs using 2D and 3D modeling software.
  • Collaborating with other engineers and designers to ensure that designs meet all functional requirements.
  • Researching new materials and technologies to improve system performance and reduce costs.
  • Conducting testing and validation to ensure that designs meet all safety and operational standards.
  • Preparing technical reports and documentation to support design and testing activities.
  • Participating in product development meetings and presenting technical information to clients and stakeholders.

Required Education and Work Experience:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or HVAC Engineering
  • Demonstrated experience designing refrigeration or HVAC systems.
  • Strong proficiency in 2D and 3D modeling software, such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and codes, such as ASHRAE, AHRI and UL.
  • Experience with testing and validation of refrigeration and HVAC systems.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to effectively collaborate with teams.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines.

Preferred:

  • Familiarity with water source heat pumps
  • Autodesk Inventor experience.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles
  • Experience with cost reduction efforts in an HVAC OEM and creating cost effective design

  • Negotiate internally and externally as needed to drive results in product development schedule reduction.
