Summary/Objective

Lead subsystem design and ensure technical performance, cost, and timeline; mentor junior engineers and drive robust design methods.

Job Description:

Day to Day Tasks (primary responsibilities):

· Lead design of full product subsystems; own performance, cost, and schedule for assigned designs.

· Expertly apply standards (UL 60335-2-40, DOE efficiency, AHRI ratings) and robust design (DFMEA, reliability analysis).

· Integrate VoC into design decisions; lead small cross-functional teams.

· Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with sales/customers for product-market fit validation.

Work Environment/Physical Requirements:

The work environment for this role is typically an office setting, with occasional visits to manufacturing sites. Ability to stand/walk during plant tours and lift up to 25 lbs for prototype evaluations. Adherence to PPE and safety protocols required.

Required Education and Work Experience:

· Advanced degree or equivalent specialized training preferred.

· 5–8 years in NPD or equivalent roles; strong HVAC product design expertise (DX, hydronics, controls).

· Proficiency in simulation, lab testing, and documentation for compliance.

· Demonstrated leadership in small team settings.
